About the Host

Victoria Lace is a New York native with 34 years in the art of entertainment. She honed her craft first as a background dancer for well known drag entertainers before branching out on her own. Victoria also developed her skills impersonating such artists as Gladys Knight, Donna Summer, and Tina Turner. She has won pageants all across the country and has had film opportunities in To Wong Foo, Stonewall, and American Gangsters.

Community Day: Celebrating Pride - This Saturday July 18th

The Newark Museum of Art joins with other local partners in celebrating the 15th Annual Newark Pride Week! Our day-long series of FREE virtual programs highlight LGBTQ+ themes and issues important to the community.

Drag Queen Story Hour with Harmonica Sunbeam, 10am

All kids and families are invited to get comfortable and join in as drag queen Harmonica Sunbeam does a theatrical reading of a children's classic.

Let's Talk About Sex: A Family Friendly Panel Discussion About Sex, 11:30am
Moderator: Amanda Simpson, Administrative and Training Coordinator at Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey

Pull up a seat to this diverse panel discussion which will cover topics like gender identity, gender roles, gender expression, sexuality, sexual orientation, and consent. This open and welcoming forum is aimed at bringing all ages together to discuss and learn in a nonjudgmental space.

Video Drop: The Grammy Museum Experience™ Prudential Center—Behind the Songs, 1pm

Join us for the exclusive video drop of a conversation and performance with LGBTQ+ musical artists Wafia and Calvin Arsenia presented by the Grammy Museum Experience™ Prudential Center. The artists will discuss their creative process and the activism initiatives they are engaged in and how it connects with the LGBTQ+ community.

We’ll be hosting a live virtual watch party on Facebook to launch the video!


Panel: LGBTQ+ Rights: Where Are We Going?, 2:30pm

=SPACE and The Newark Museum of Art present an all-star panel of leaders, changemakers, activists, and icons within this wonderfully diverse community to discuss our future. We will be delving into the hot-button topics that will have major effects on the trajectory of the safety and protection of the LGBTQ+ movement in America.
