JUST OPENED

Through September 5, 2022
The Met Fifth Avenue

Today marks the opening of The Costume Institute's wildly anticipated exhibition, In America: An Anthology of Fashion. Presented in collaboration with The Met's American Wing, Anthology features vignettes installed in select period rooms that explore the foundations of American fashion in relation to the complex histories of the rooms. The period rooms feature cinematic "freeze frames" created by nine film directors.

Part one, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion—currently on view in the Anna Wintour Costume Center—establishes a modern vocabulary of American fashion based on its expressive qualities.
