HOPEWELL BOROUGH PLASTIC BAG BAN
Even though the New Jersey Legislature didn't pass a statewide ban on plastic bags, straws, and other single-use items during the past session, some local towns took action.

About a dozen fifth-graders from the Hopewell Elementary School and staff from The Watershed Institute joined the voices on Jan. 2 in urging the Hopewell Borough Council to finalize a ban on distribution by businesses of single-use plastic bags. The Council voted unanimously to have the ban go into effect on Earth Day (April 22, 2020).
