  • Ephemeral Possessions (pas de deux) | choreography Douglas Martin
  • Airs | choreography Paul Taylor

Fulfilling his long-held desire to create a work to music by Beethoven, Kirk Peterson created Tears of the Moon on ARB dancers in 2013, when he felt he “now had the maturity and experience as an artist to explore the possibilities of dance to the master’s work.” A delicately emotional piece, Tears of the Moon features a range of movements – from highly technical, quick footwork to a lush and emotional pas de deux.

Pas de Deux, from Douglas Martin's Ephemeral Possessions, is set to music by Samuel Barber.

The evening concludes with the company premiere of Paul Taylor's Airs, set to music by G.F. Handel. “Airs is a new and distinctive vintage, of mellowness and classic finish that give it a sublime autumnal glow. Incredibly diversified and complex. The whole work is a treasure.” – Alan M. Kriegsman, Washington Post.
