FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is the perfect mix of audience-pleasing humor and heart that takes place in the small village of Anatevka and follows poor milkman Tevye as he tries to protect his five daughters in the face of changing social mores and the growing Antisemitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

PAUL WHELIHAN (Tevye) is delighted to return to Plays-in-the-Park, where he played Tevye for the first time in 1996. Since then, not much has happened, except that he has performed, stage managed and directed off-Broadway: The Flamekeeper (47th Street Theatre), LOVE...or whatever (Creative Place Theatre), at 59 East 59 Theaters and for The NY Fringe Festival. Regional productions include: A Funny Thing...Forum (Psudolous - Forum Theatre), Pageant (Miss Texas - Quillo Center for the Perf. Arts), Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (Harvey, Goldfarb, et al - NY, NJ, FL, MA regional venues), Two by Two (Noah - Forum), Sheldon Harnick's Dragons (The Mayor - Luna Stage Company), various roles in Ode to My First Love (Premiere
Stages), Deathtrap (Centenary Stage), Not Now, Darling (Crouch - Bickford Theatre at Morristown Museum) and more. He is a featured player in the web series, Madness of Art. Whelihan is also a playwright and producer, originating roles in world premieres and working as an administrator with Ironbound Theatre and Running Rabbit Theatre (companies he co-founded). Paul is the producing artistic director of Pushcart Players, NJ's leading touring theater for young audiences.
