clip_image002[7]At Giralda, you can hear the state’s top orchestra, relax on the beautiful lawns of former Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge estate, see (and purchase) original artworks, enjoy family/children’s arts activities, indulge your ice cream cravings at the fully stocked antique ice cream truck, sample food truck fare or just picnic with friends and family. Best of all, weather is not a concern at all! By special arrangement with the Morris County Park Commission, our rainsite will host the same, full experience of the Giralda Music & Arts Festival as you would have outdoors—with the art show and sale, family arts activities, picnics (and prizes) and, of course, the concert!

Under the baton of one of Chile’s most prominent orchestral conductors, José Luis Domínguez, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s Giralda program will feature Key’s Star Spangled Banner, BERNSTEIN’s Overture to Candide; PUCCINI’s “Intermezzo” from Manon Lescaut; ROSSINI’s Overture to Guillaume Tell; MOZART’s Overture to Le nozze di Figaro; MASSANET’s “Meditation” from Thais (featuring Eric Wyrick, violin); RODGERS’ The Carousel Waltz; GERSHWIN’s Overture to Crazy for You!; STYNE’s Overture to Gypsy; VERDI’s Overture to Nabucco; LEONCAVALLO’s “Intermezzo” from I Pagliacci; GLINKA’s Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla; J. STRAUSS, Jr.’s Overture to Die Fledermaus; JOHN WILLIAMS’ Selection from Star Wars; LOWDEN’s arr. of the  Armed Forces Salute and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.

clip_image002[9]In keeping with Giralda tradition, there will be very generous prizes for the most inventive picnics and the fabulous 50/50 raffle, which nets some lucky person a big cash prize (often over $1,000)!  Invite that special someone, friends, family, neighbors, club members or college chums to share a picnic and help support the important work of Morris Arts, which has been building community through the arts for 45 years.
