3 SPRING CONCERTS AT THE AXELROD

Dr. Jazz,” the one and only Art Topilow, leads an extravagant celebration of Fred Astaire, in music, song and dance! “Let’s Face the Music...” features acclaimed NY vocalists Danny Bacher and Alexis Cole, on some of the greatest songs written for Hollywood by the Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and more. The concert also features two leading Broadway dancers, Cory Lingner (“American in Paris”) and Eloise Kropp (“Dames at Sea”), choreographed by tap specialist Andrew Black. One of the world’s most famous dance companies, the Paul Taylor Dance Company will make its debut at the Axelrod PAC on April 14 with a special presentation of three of their favorite dance creations, following the troupe’s three-week residence at Lincoln Center. This is a rare opportunity to experience the full 18-member dance company in New Jersey. America’s singular greatest composer and conductor, Leonard Bernstein is most renowned as the creator of his masterpiece “West Side Story". To celebrate Bernstein’s 100th birthday, conductor Ryan Brandau will lead the 100-voice Monmouth Civic Chorus and orchestra in a full-length program of the maestro’s greatest works. Soloists include sopranos Claire Leyden and Andrea DelGuidice, tenor Jordon Weatherston Pitts, countertenor Logan Tanner, mezzos Jenna Bitow and Heather Varley and baritone Ken Wasser, singing from “West Side Story,” “On the Town,” “Candide,” “Wonderful Town” as well as the “Chichester Psalms.” This two-day concert promises to be one of the highlights of the year!
