Multiple award-winning tribute artist Carla DelVillaggio is “Simply Streisand” at Rhino Theatre.
Ms DelVillaggio’s jaw-dropping re-creation of Vintage 1960’s Barbra, as well as the more glamorous Streisand of recent years, makes her Then and Now show a unique multimedia concert experience.
Simply Showbiz (NYC) said: DelVillaggio demonstrated a spooky ability to channel the icon—at times you would swear you were seeing a hologram of a teenage Streisand.
In Act One, dressed in a perfect replica of the “sailor-inspired” dress Streisand wore on her first television special, My Name is Barbra, Carla sings songs from the early part of Barbra’s iconic career. Songs like Second Hand Rose, Don’t Rain on My Parade, My Man, Hello Dolly, and so many more!
After intermission, she returns looking more like the Barbra we know today, and with songs like Papa, Can You Hear Me, Evergreen, The Way We Were, Memory and Somewhere, to name a few.
The show, complete with audience interaction and participation, stories and schtick, along with Ms DelVillaggio’s ability to inhabit the essence of Streisand, all combine to create an evening you will not soon forget.
