"My Lament for Many Strings is a modern interpretation of Henry Purcell's iconic opera aria 'Dido's Lament,' formally known as 'When I am Laid in Earth.' The piece follows the natural structure and melody of the original aria but presents the melody in a new sound world composed of a vastly larger harmonic range. My Concerto is characterized by its Neo-Baroque counterpoint and concerto form." —John Franek, 2016
