August Wilson's SEVEN GUITARS

You asked for it, you got it — more August Wilson! Following our critically acclaimed productions of Jitney and Two Trains Running, we are now taking you to Pittsburgh, 1948, where local blues guitarist Floyd “Schoolboy” Barton sits on the edge of stardom. Marking the directorial debut of Two River favorite Brandon J. Dirden (Your Blues Ain’t Sweet Like Mine, Topdog/Underdog and Jitney) Seven Guitars will feature cast members Crystal Dickinson (Broadway’s You Can’t Take it With You and Clybourne Park) and Jason Dirden (Two River’s Topdog/Underdog and Broadway’s A Raisin in the Sun).

Something for everyone…a Comedy Tonight! Kick off your Holiday Season with Broadway’s greatest musical farce, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Director Jessica Stone (Absurd Person Singular) takes audiences on a hilarious romp through Ancient Greece with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim! Leading an all-male troupe of actors, Christopher Fitzgerald (Broadway’s An Act of God with Jim Parsons, Wicked [original cast] and Young Frankenstein) plays Pseudolus, a slave who tries to win his freedom by playing matchmaker for his innocent young master. With blustering generals, anxious sidekicks and courtesans to contend with, it won’t be an easy task!


A LITTLE SHAKESPEARE: PERICLES

Now in its third season, A Little Shakespeare is back to engage young audiences with the work of the Bard. A cast of high school students will perform a professionally produced 70-minute version of Pericles for audiences ages 9 and up.


LIVES OF REASON

A world-premiere play by Two River Founder Robert Rechnitz and Kenneth Stunkel. Set at an English Department faculty party, Lives of Reason brings audiences inside the world of academia— and what happens when one woman’s secret passions explode. The cast will include John Ahlin (Charlotte’s Web and Much Ado About Nothing) and Maureen Silliman (The Beauty Queen of Leenane and The Glass Menagerie). Former Two River Artistic Director Jonathan Fox directs.

Celebrated as one of the 10 best theater productions of 2014 in The New York Times and praised as “brilliant…transcendent… magical…a gift and a miracle” by Hilton Als of The New Yorker, Director Jack Cummings III’s production of I Remember Mama is truly one to warm the spirit.

Sail along with Max to the land of the Wild Things. Adapted from the beloved classic, the audience helps to transform Max’s bedroom into the various landscapes of his adventures from a rolling ocean to a forest. The audience then becomes the Wild Things as we are each given a mask and encouraged to “let the Wild Rumpus start!” This Award-Winning, internationally acclaimed production is an intimate “guided play” experience for kids ages 3 to 7 and their adults.
