Centenary Stage Company, the not-for-profit professional theatre company, prepares a full schedule of professional theatrical performances for their 36th season.

Productions from the Professional Theatre Series, Fringe Festival, NEXTstage Repertory, and Women Playwright’s Series will make up the company’s 2021 – 2022 season.

Early access to tickets and seat selection for the entire CSC season is now open to all returning and new Season Subscribers and Flex Pass holders. Season subscriptions can be purchased online at CentenaryStageCo.org, by calling the box office at (908) 979-0900, or by stopping by the box office in person. Box office hours are Monday - Friday from 1:00PM – 5:00PM and it is located at 715 Grand Avenue in Hackettstown.

Season Producer Pass

The Season Subscription package from CSC is called the “Season Producer Pass” and costs $200. This package offers patrons admission into all CSC events plus all NEXTStage Rep events during the CSC 2021-22 Season. This includes CeCe Teneal but excludes Hackettstown Rotary Fundraiser Concerts and NJCYB performances. The benefits for this subscription package include advance season renewal with preferred seating selection, no restrictions on the date or time of the performance selection, cost savings, and no order, exchange, or mailing fees.

CSC Encore Program

This year Centenary Stage Company is also bringing back a new benefit from last season, for Season Subscription package holders, called the “CSC Encore Program." The “CSC Encore Program” allows a Season Subscription package holder to see the same event for a second time for free with the purchase of another ticket for a guest to the same event on a different date.

Flex Pass

Centenary Stage Company is also offering patrons the option of purchasing a “Flex Pass.” “Flex Passes” provide patrons with discount ticket prices and the convenience of purchasing tickets at any time for each event. Patrons have the option of picking a “Series A Flex Pass” for any 6 tickets to be redeemed throughout the 2021-22 Season, or a “Series B Flex Pass” for any 3 tickets. CSC’s “Flex Pass Series” for the 2021-22 Season allows patrons to purchase the plan that best fits their lifestyle. Similar to Centenary Stage Company’s “Season Producer Package”, the “Flex Pass” allows patrons advanced season renewal with preferred seating selection, no restrictions on the date or time of the performance selection, discount on ticket prices, and no order, exchange, or mailing fees.

Note that patrons who wish to have specific seating for each event must provide dates and times when purchasing the “Flex Pass” by directly contacting the CSC Box Office. Otherwise, CSC cannot guarantee patrons will have their desired seats. “Flex Passes” do not carry over to the next season, and cannot be used towards CSC Curtain Up! Events, Hackettstown Rotary Fundraiser Concerts, or NJCYB performances.

NJ SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES 2021-2022 SEASON!

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra

President & CEO Gabriel van Aalst
announces the 2021–22 season

I hope you and yours are enjoying the summer!

It is with a sense of great excitement and pride that I can announce the 2021–22 New Jersey Symphony Orchestra concert season! We’ve been incredibly diligent in our planning and are confident we can move forward with this delightful, passionate and uplifting season of music. We absolutely wouldn’t be in this position without YOUR support, patience and understanding. We cannot overstate this, and we truly can’t wait for you to join us as we return to live indoor performances.

This new season is filled with your favorite timeless classics. Featuring the works of legendary composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Ravel, there is absolutely something for everyone. We also explore masterpieces from composers of today—Wynton Marsalis, Michael Abels, Thomas Adès, Jesse Montgomery, Nokuthula Ngwenyama and our own Resident Artistic Catalyst Daniel Bernard Roumain—bringing both freshness and depth to our programs.

We are extremely pleased to have an impressive roster of mega-talented guest artists joining us this season. Some highlights include Nicholas McGegan and Augustin Hadelich in a program featuring the works of Beethoven & Saint-Georges, Karen Gomyo performing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 and Conrad Tao mastering Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. After a pandemic-related postponement, Louis Lortie will finally delight us with the Beethoven piano concerto cycle. Lastly, our new Artist-in-Residence, world-acclaimed pianist Daniil Trifonov, will join us for not one, but two separate programs this season! If you haven’t seen Daniil perform, I highly recommend checking out his incredible performance in our EMERGE concert film, premiering online via the NJSO’s website and YouTube channel on June 30.

This season, we again shine the spotlight on our musicians. Bart Feller, Chris Komer, Kathleen Nester, Jonathan Spitz, Brennan Sweet, Elzbieta Weyman, Robert Wagner and Eric Wyrick are all featured soloists on programs in 2021–22. It’s absolutely thrilling to showcase them and their wondrous talents. Our musicians have been so resilient through everything that’s happened with the pandemic, and we look forward to seeing them back on full display!

The safety and well-being of our musicians, staff and patrons will be our top priority as we return to our venues. We will continue to follow guidance from the CDC and the State of New Jersey in order to create a safe experience for everyone. Should you not feel comfortable attending an in-person performance, that’s OK! Patron services will offer the most flexibility possible in how to handle your tickets. We’re here to take care of you.

It has been a long road to get to this point and we can’t wait to reunite with you, the NJSO family. Subscribe today and be part of the Symphony’s epic return!

On behalf of Xian, the musicians, trustees and staff, welcome to the 2021–22 concert season!

Best,

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Moves 2020 Season to 2021

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) has decided to move their entire 2020 season line-up of plays on both its Main Stage and Outdoor Stage to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the State’s current guidelines regarding in-person gatherings. The 58th season, which was set to debut in May with Enchanted April and close with A Midwinter Night’s Dream, a wintry adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in December, will premiere in the same order in 2021 when both the State and the Theatre feel it will be safe for large public gatherings once again.

The 2020 season was slated to be a celebratory one, honoring Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte and Director of Education Brian B. Crowe’s anniversaries with the company, celebrating 30 years and 25 years, respectively. Those celebrations will also wait until 2021.

Of the postponements, Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte said, “We are feeling like everyone for the most part – we have been riding an emotional rollercoaster that sometimes leaves us dizzy and sick at heart. For theatre people, our raison d’être has been taken away from us and that is something that we are all struggling with on a daily basis. But we’re trying to be upbeat about it, and so our ‘mantra’ for this year and next is, ‘2021 is the new 2020!’” She added, “and Brian and I are just as happy celebrating our 31st and 26th anniversaries in lieu of 30 and 25!”

For anyone who has purchased a subscription for the 2020 season (of any size), the Theatre would like to consider the purchase a pre-payment for 2021 subscriptions. Each and every household that has purchased a subscription package for 2020 will be contacted by STNJ staff to confirm consent to this arrangement. Subscription price, seat locations, and all subscriber benefits will remain intact.

As all 2020 Main Stage performances, as of now, are cancelled for 2020, perennial one-night favorite events like Something Wicked This Way Comes and Something Merry This Way Comes will also move to 2021. Like the Main Stage and Outdoor Stage, those events will return next year, and if a patron purchased tickets for 2020, that payment can be moved to next year. All memberships purchased in 2020 will also be applied to 2021, and the $40 cost of membership tickets will remain the same for members in 2021 as in 2020. Finally, if patrons prefer, subscriptions may be converted into gift certificates, good for the next 18 months, or into a donation to the Theatre. Subscription sales for the 2021 season will start up again on August 3rd.

The Theatre has also regretfully decided to cancel its Junior Corps, Senior Corps and Young Shakespeareans Summer Camp programs, along with its 2020 Summer Professional Training Program (SPTP). SPTP typically attracts college and post-college age theatre students from across the nation and abroad. All 2020 applicants are encouraged to re-submit for the 2021 program, which will be the much-anticipated 30th anniversary of the Summer Professional Training Program.  All Summer Camp programs will start up again in 2021 as well.

For more information, please contact the Box Office at 973-408-5600 or via email at BoxOffice@ShakespeareNJ.org. The current Box Office hours are on a reduced schedule from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
