clip_image001BALLETS WITH A TWIST: COCKTAIL HOUR
A stylish tribute to a pair of classic Mad Men-era institutions: The Tonight Show and the Boilermaker

WHEN: May 30 and May 31 at 8 PM and June 1 at 3 PM
WHERE: Hamilton Stage, 360 Hamilton Street in the heart of Rahway Arts District

Conceived and choreographed by celebrated dance-maker Marilyn Klaus with original music composed by Cyndi Lauper keyboardist Stephen Gaboury, Cocktail Hour is a jazz-inflected, outrageously costumed pastiche of solos, duets and group dances that springs an American cocktail-bar menu to life.

The Hamilton Stage show features two premieres: Eau de Vie, a breathtakingly bright, frothy spirit fresh from the finest Continental salon, and The Boilermaker, a quintessentially American quaff with a touch of true grit.

In celebration of the 60-year anniversary of The Tonight Show, Ballets With A Twist pays tribute to the King of Comedy with a revival of The Johnny Show, a beguiling blend of honky-tonk, circus, comic revue and—of course, classic ballet.

Rounding out the program are several of the troupe's "Greatest Hits"—Champagne, Mai Tai, Shirley Temple, Mint Julep and Bloody Mary.

Cocktail Hour is the most original dance performance you’ll see—and hear— this season.

It is the future of American Dance, and it is Fun.
