About the Brick Art of Nathan Sawaya

Featuring more than thirty sculptures never before seen at the Morris Museum, The Brick Art of Nathan Sawaya is one of the most popular art exhibits currently touring the globe. The collection includes Sawaya’s early mixed-media work X-Ray, a human figure created from recycled bricks featuring a transparent heart.  Also on view is an exquisite example of a 3D sculpture that integrates 2D imagery in a sculpture titled Puddle.  Sawaya’s most iconic work of a man ripping his chest open, Yellow, makes an encore appearance.

About Stephen W. Schwartz and Building Blocks Workshops

Building Blocks Workshops was developed by architect Stephen W. Schwartz of Livingston, NJ. Each two-hour program is a fast-paced, hands-on model building experience using LEGO building blocks.  “These programs,” says Stephen “are an opportunity to have fun, learn about the community’s architectural heritage, and work in a large group to build structurally sound, interesting and whimsical models.”
