Seeking Volunteers for Outdoor Dog Event
Are you interested in volunteering for a fun, outdoor event at the Mansion?
Saturday, June 26th, 1pm to 5pm
We have a great lineup of vendors for our June 26th event and could use some help. We're looking for volunteers for two hour time slots.

Plant Swap Outdoors at the Barrow Mansion in Jersey City

Join us at the
Barrow Mansion for a plant swapping event! Bring plants, go
home with plants, and learn about how to properly care for them. Bring your
plant(s) in a pot or a cutting wrapped in a wet paper towel & in a
plastic bag. There will be soil and a potting station for easy transplanting.
Guest speakers will provide info on how to properly care for plants. Lemonade
and music, too! Food

Art, Music, Tours, Wine, Food and Bowling at the Barrow Mansion’s Open House—September 20th from 6 to 9pm

The event includes live music by the Jack Breslin duo and light fare from local restaurants including Skinner’s Loft, Uncle Momo and Vaibhavusa Restaurant. Sip wine while enjoying a self-guided tour of the mansion.
Currently on view in the parlors is an art exhibit, Neighborhood, which includes an exciting mix of artwork by Jersey City artists Jennifer Brown, Norm Kirby, Robert Piersanti, Diana Buitrago, Jenna Toulantis and Catalina Aranguren. Catalina has also curated the show. (The show closes Sept 21.) Visitors will also have the opportunity to bowl in our landmark bowling alley in the basement.

The Barrow Mansion is a Greek Revival-style building (1837) located in the Van Vorst Historic District of Jersey City, New Jersey. Initially constructed as a private residence, the building has been in public use since 1890, when the Mansion served briefly as the Jersey City YMCA. The billiard room, bowling alley and gym (now theater) were added by the YMCA. The property was purchased by St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1897. The Barrow Mansion is on the State and National Registers of Historic Places and hosts a variety of community-oriented events each week. Read more online: barrowmansion.org
The Barrow Mansion Development Corporation was founded in 1985 as steward with the purpose of restoration, preservation, and operations and promoting the Mansion use as a community center. The BMDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
