Dear Friends,
Our 2024 season
has passed incredibly quickly! As we prepare to close for the
winter months, we invite you to visit us this last weekend if you
haven’t already. Today, Saturday, and Sunday, the gardens are
still offering up nature’s gorgeous palette, including ruby red and
golden trees and brilliantly hued perennials and shrubs. Plan to
take a revitalizing stroll; you will be richly rewarded at every
turn.
Be sure to stop on the Main Lawn where the sweeping
views of our terraced Main Axis, stately fountains, and the
surrounding South Mountain Reservation will surely take your breath
away. Walk down the main staircase and lend an ear to the gentle
gurgling of water at the D-shaped pool fountain. Head east
toward the Teahouse where you can let your hair down like Rapunzel
in this original 1920s two-story garden folly. Linger on a
comfortable bench overlooking the ponds where our geese enjoy their
dreamy afternoon swim. Take a tour with one of our knowledgeable
docents who will happily make history come alive for you.
Greenwood Gardens is an enchanted haven that exists
for the benefit of the public. Make a point to soak up all the
nature, beauty, and history it has to offer this weekend.
