Meet the five daughters of "Fiddler"

Meet Tevye’s Daughters

Five Talents, One Heartfelt Story

Why does tradition matter—and how do we find our way in a world that won’t stop changing? These questions drive the heart of Fiddler on the Roof, opening Friday, November 1 at Axelrod Performing Arts Center, with performances running through Sunday, November 24. With big laughs, timeless music and vibrant performances, this production promises to leave you smiling all the way home.

At the center of it all are Tevye’s five daughters, who steal the show with the crowd-favorite Matchmaker—a song that’s been making audiences hum along since Bette Midler first brought the role of Tzeitel to Broadway in 1964.

Now, meet the talented actresses bringing Tevye’s daughters to life—their unique backgrounds enrich their portrayals, adding new layers to these beloved characters.

Ksana Sergienko

Tzeitel

Ksana's career reflects her ability to cross borders and defy expectations. With Russian, Ukrainian and American roots, she has captivated audiences around the world—rising to prominence as a semifinalist on The Voice Russia and performing in New York’s Rasputin Club. Known for blending pop, rock and soul, Ksana brings emotional depth and artistry to every role she takes on. Her presence in Fiddler channels these elements, delivering a performance that resonates with the tension between tradition and modernity.

Mariia Ivashchenko

Hodel

Mariia has dedicated her life to performance, with roots deeply embedded in Russian theater. Debuting at just nine years old in the musical Nord-ost, Mariia has since appeared in Russian productions of The Sound of Music as Liesl von Trapp and Mamma Mia! as Sophie Sheridan. Beyond the stage, she is the Russian dubbed voice of beloved characters like Hannah Montana and Luna Lovegood.

Sarah Coleman

Chava

Sarah brings her signature enthusiasm and emotional connection to the role of Chava. A Boston University School of Theatre graduate, Sarah’s recent performances include Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show and Sherrie in Rock of Ages. Whether rocking the stage or performing heartfelt musical theater, she strives to tell stories that resonate with audiences.

Victoria Bahary

Shprintze

Victoria’s journey to the Axelrod stage has been filled with diverse roles, from Peter Pan to Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. Fresh from her studies at Pace University, she’s already carved a name for herself Off-Broadway, earning a BroadwayWorld Award nomination for her role in Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas. Victoria’s ability to adapt to different characters makes her a standout in Fiddler, where every moment on stage requires equal parts heart and nuance.

Carly Dagilis

Bielke

Carly steps onto the Axelrod stage as Bielke, bringing a youthful spirit and remarkable talent. A senior musical theater major at Temple University, Carly has already earned acclaim for roles in I and You and West Side Story. Her performance in Fiddler captures the delicate balance between honoring tradition and forging a new path, reflecting both the struggles and the joys of the daughters’ journeys.

These five actresses bring heart and authenticity to their roles, drawing audiences into the world of Anatevka. Through every scene, they capture the laughter, love and deep emotion that make Fiddler on the Roof such a timeless and moving experience.
