Get ready
for a rollercoaster of love, laughter, and ludicrous potions at this modern
production! Our hero, Nemorino, is so smitten he might just serenade a
lamppost if it looked like Adina. And how about Dr. Dulcamara? He's the
kind of doctor who might diagnose a case of the blues as a severe lack
of chocolate. Together, they bring you a tale so tangled in love's
lunacy, you'll forget whether you're in Basking Ridge or on a wild ride
through Verona. It’s a love potion brewed with a dash of hilarity.
This modern
setting of the beloved classic is a co-production between Teatro
Grattacielo, Camerata Bardi International Academy and Light Opera of
New Jersey, and showcases a cast exclusively made up of the next
generation of opera stars. Camerata Bardi International Academy 2024’s
young artists will own the stage to give life to eccentric characters
in this reinterpretation of the Italian comic opera in which saturated
colors will resonate with rose infused patterns to visually empower
Donizetti’s delightful music. The production was designed and directed
by Stefanos Koroneos and will be led by Maestro Jason Tramm and the
Light Opera of New Jersey Orchestra.
