Hear Bubi Sarah’s
Extraordinary Story
The Raritan Valley Community College Institute of
Holocaust and Genocide Studies will present a webinar featuring
David Reckess, a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, online.
David is executive director of 3GNY, a
nonprofit group founded by grandchildren of Holocaust
survivors. For additional information about 3GNY, visit https://www.3gny.org.
During the program, David will share how his Bubi,
Sarah Tuller, survived the Holocaust and will detail his own
journey of embracing his third-generation identity.
He also will express the importance of telling her
story in the classroom and to the broader community.
Participants will hear about Davids’ maternal
grandmother Sarah Tuller, who was 16 when Nazis invaded her
hometown of Lublin, Poland, in 1939 and forced her and her
family into the Lublin Ghetto.
After escaping from the Majdanek Concentration
Camp, she and her parents survived by hiding in a Polish
Catholic family’s small apartment for more than three years.
The program is part of the Learning Through
Experience series, presented in partnership with the Jewish Federation
of West Central New Jersey.
