Mintus
Israeli pianist and composer Guy Mintus, with a rich
heritage of Iraqi, Moroccan, and Polish Jews, seamlessly blends
global influences in his music. Based between Tel Aviv and New York,
he performs worldwide, sharing stages with jazz legends and performing
at venues like the Apollo Theater and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He
collaborates with classical orchestras, traditional music masters,
and Ska-Punk bands like Streetlight Manifesto. His unique style
combines rock-star energy, jazz adventure, and Middle Eastern
rhythms, earning praise from Grammy-winning artist Arturo O’Farrill.
Leading the acclaimed Guy Mintus Trio, he creates a dynamic fusion of
diverse inspirations, showcased in albums like "Connecting the
Dots" and performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival and Winter
JazzFest. Mintus’s accolades include the Leonard Bernstein Award and
commissions from the American Composers Orchestra and Jerusalem
Symphony Orchestra. As an educator, he conducts workshops globally,
fostering coexistence through initiatives like his musical short film
“Can You Tell the Difference?”
