SVP announces 2024 Season!

The Somerset Valley Players team has created a 2024 season line-up we think you’ll enjoy! We have a great mix of returning directors, those we are glad to see back after a hiatus, and one new to SVP audiences. Our season includes three comedies, a Neil Simon Pulitzer-Prize finalist, two family-friendly musicals (one familiar, one brand new), and two mysteries based on classic detectives. Our lineup for 2024 is as follows:

January 19 - February 4

Broadway Bound

by Neil Simon

Director Todd Bennington

The last of Simon’s trilogy, this funny but bittersweet comedy puts closure to the Jerome family saga as the brothers are hired as comedy writers for CBS.

March 8 - March 24

Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express

Adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig

 Director Michael A. Muller

A man is murdered overnight on the luxury train; will Hercule Poirot find his killer?

April 19 - May 5

Ripcord

by David Lindsay-Abaire

 Director Elaine Wallace

A hilarious comedy of one-up-WOMANship, as two roommates in a senior living facility make a wager to determine whether one of them stays or goes.

June 7 - June 23

Kong’s Night Out

by Jack Neary

Directed by Michael Schuller

A hapless Broadway producer is being sabotaged by his archrival – but what does this have to do with King Kong? Come to this screwball comedy to find out!

July 19 - August 4

Alice in Wonderland

by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman

Director Holly Lessing

A new musical based on the classic Lewis Carroll story – a show for all ages!

September 6 - September 22

Becky’s New Car

by Steven Dietz

Directed by Jeanne Johnston

Come follow Becky’s laugh-out-loud bumper car ride as she speeds out of control!

October 18 - November 3

 Miss Holmes

by Christopher M. Walsh

Directed by Alicia Harabin

Despite the fact that both Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are women, this fast-paced mystery faithfully follows the tradition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective – clever, edge-of-your-seat stuff!

December 6 - December 22

Annie

by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin

Directed by Emily M. Muller

The comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals!
