Mozaika Concert Series Season Opening - Ivan Konev




Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will open their season 2023-2024 with a performance by the Ukrainian-born pianist, Ivan Konev. The event, part of the MOZAIKA Concert Series new season, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The performance will feature music written by long neglected Ukrainian composers Victor Kosenko, Igor Shamo, Myroslav Skoryk in addition to the American composer Ned Rorem.

Dr. Konev has won prizes in a number of international competitions including the Andorra International Piano Competition, Corpus Christi International Piano Competition. As an active performer in the United States and abroad, Ivan has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in such venues as Embassy of the United States in Moscow, Great and Rachmaninoff Halls of the Moscow Conservatory, Sundin Music Hall, Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis among others. Dr. Konev is a member of the piano faculty at the University of Wisconsin -River Falls. He is a Founder and Artistic Director of UWRF Piano Festival & Competition and Piano & Strings Music camp.
