International Opera Singers and Pianist to Perform Benefit Concert for Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry

Onstage Couples features music from Tosca, Carmen, Carousel, The Secret Garden, and more.

Soprano Samantha Blossey, tenor Jeremy Blossey, and pianist Lynda Saponara have joined forces to present Onstage Couples, an afternoon of opera and musical theatre to be performed on Sunday, October 1st, at 4pm at Pennington United Methodist Church (60 South Main St.) to benefit the Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry.

The Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry is a vital program run entirely by volunteers that benefits food-insecure families and individuals in the valley. It has been in operation for over three years and was begun by Joe Lauver, a former mayor of Pennington. The Pennington United Methodist Church contributes monthly to its mission.

These internationally performing artists will showcase their skills with the operatic repertoire of Puccini, Bizet, and more, as well as musical theatre selections by Hammerstein, Loesser, and Marsha Norman. Off-stage couple Samantha and Jeremy Blossey will sing duets, arias and songs portraying onstage couples and their myriad of relationships.

According to Saponara, “Samantha, Jeremy and I are passionate about this cause and we’re eager to bring the community together to help others through music.” All proceeds from the free will offering at the door will be donated to the food pantry.
