One of the
most exciting singers of our time, Lillias White has
been stunning Broadway audiences for decades. Since her Tony
Award-winning performance in Cy Coleman's musical The
Life to her current turn as Hades in Hadestown,
Lillias has proven herself a "force of nature," (Broadway
World). Her Broadway career also includes Dreamgirls, Cats,
Once on This Island, How to Succeed, The Life, and Fela!,
the latter earning her a second Tony nomination. She also
won an Obie for Romance in HardTimes and a Daytime
Emmy for her role on Sesame Street. Broadway World,
reviewing a recent NY cabaret, says, "Her voice is instantly
recognizable. No one sings like her. The force of her voice and her
presence is as elemental as air, water, earth, and fire."
