An Evening of the Spoken Word
Dorothy Parker
Invitation to all Performance Readers
We invite you to join us for an entertaining evening of spoken word
at our upcoming event celebrating the extraordinary works of Dorothy
Parker. As we delve into the depths of her poetic brilliance, we seek
performance readers who can breathe life into her thoughtful verses.
Dorothy Parker, a literary icon of the 20th century, was a wordsmith
like no other. Her life was as fascinating as her artistry. Through
her poetry, short stories, and wit, Parker carved a niche for herself
in the realm of literature, capturing the essence of an era with her
incisive observations and razor-sharp humor.
Her words were both a balm for the soul and a mirror to society. With
unparalleled grace and poetic prowess, Parker explored the complexities
of love, the struggles of the human condition, and the fragility of
the human heart. Her verses possessed a rare combination of elegance,
vulnerability, and biting satire, creating a tapestry of emotions
that continues to resonate with audiences to this day.
As producer, we’ve made a decision that we will only be selecting
women performance readers for this event As a performer, you have the
opportunity to give voice to the poignant narratives she crafted,
allowing her literary genius to ignite the hearts and minds of
listeners. Through your interpretation, you can infuse her verses
with your unique artistic flair, breathing new life into her already
vibrant works.
So, if you possess a love for the spoken word and a reverence for the
written art form, we invite you to be a part of this entertaining
event. Here are the key dates we’d ask that you reserve in
preparation for the performance.
