Discover the remarkable history of the Sassoon family
and their pioneering role in trade, art collecting, architectural
patronage, and civic engagement from the early 19th century through
World War II in this two-part virtual course inspired by the current
exhibition The Sassoons.
Then in the second session, take an in-depth look at the family’s
relationship with artist John Singer Sargent, and his portraits of
Jewish patrons as explored in the past exhibition John Singer Sargent's Mrs. Carl Meyer and Her Children (2017).
