Object Lesson     The Sabbath Table Hear from Ethiopian Jewish chef, activist, and owner of Tsion Café, Beejhy Barhany, as she explores the multi-sensory rituals involved in welcoming the Sabbath. Paired with a close look at Isidor Kaufmann’s 1920 painting Friday Evening from the Jewish Museum Collection, consider the multiple ways people around the world mark this weekly observance and how these external gestures reflect an internal state of mind.
