Join us for the talk "Photographing Animals with
People" with artist Robin Schwartz, whose work is currently featured
in American Stories: Gifts from the Jersey City Museum
Collection.
Robin Schwartz is a 2016 Guggenheim Fellow in photography,
with photographs in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art;
the Museum of Modern Art; the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the
Bibliothéque Nationale, among others. Schwartz’s fourth photography book
is Amelia & the Animals, published by The Aperture
Foundation in 2014.
As a fine art and editorial photographer, specializing in
portraits of animals and people, her photographs have been published in
the New York Times Magazine, Time, The
New Yorker, The Guardian, Telegraph,
The Guardian, Geo Magazines, and many others.
Robin is a professor of photography at William Paterson University of New
Jersey.
The talk is followed by Q&A and a reception.
