ABOUT THE
SHOW
This
authorized stage adaptation is true to the novel in which Orwell
depicts with great power the horrors of man’s fate in a society where
Big Brother is always watching—where everything that is not
prohibited is compulsory. A prophetic tale not too far from our own
place in society. Orwell himself once said, “I do not believe that
the kind of society I describe necessarily will arrive, but I believe
that something resembling it could arrive. The moral to be drawn from
the dangerous nightmare situation is a simple one: Don’t let it
happen. It depends on you.”
ABOUT
interACT THEATRE PRODUCTIONS ON THE RUN
interACT is
the theatre in residence at The Baird Cultural Arts Center in South
Orange, NJ. In 2019, the entire Baird building is closing for
extensive renovations and will remain closed for a few years until
the project is complete. During this time, we are proud to have the
support of South Orange Middle School and The Burgdorff Center in
allowing us to perform our mainstage productions "On the Run" in their spaces. If you or anyone you know has a space that
would be willing to house us for our remaining Feb/March main-stage
production slot, please contact AD Nick Clarey at nick@interactproductions.org.
