George Inness Gallery

The Montclair Art Museum is pleased to present a significant new installation of its world-renowned George Inness collection. Inness’ work is now displayed in a salon-style hanging. This hanging affords the rare opportunity to show the majority of Inness’ works in the collection, several of which will be available for viewing for the first time in many years, and features a major recent acquisition, Twilight (1875).

Photography Walk and New Acquisitions at MAM

Headshot of Jeremy Dennis & image of his photography "I Could Stand Here All Night"

October 7, 8, 9

Spend the weekend with artist Jermey Dennis starting Friday, October 7, as a new display of his photographs opens in Leham Court. On Saturday, October 8, bring your camera or smartphone to MAM and join Dennis for a fall photography walk. The artist will give an overview of his work and speak about his background as a member of the Shinnecock Nation on Long Island. Then, he will lead the group to neighborhood locations where you can look closely, take photographs, and discuss them together.

The next day, Dennis will lead a family art activity for a special Sunday Studio, sharing Native American storytelling as a prompt to create collages.

These events are a part of Indigenous Peoples' Weekend at MAM, October 7-10. For the full schedule of events, click here.
