The sound of her house was distinct: a blend of Salsa, Jazz, Bomba, R&B, Bachata and Soul. When I realized Eddie Palmieri was coming to SOPAC, I was instantly transported back to my childhood sitting in my grandmother’s house, bouncing to drums and swaying to trumpets. Palmieri’s music evokes happy, fun and energetic memories for me. Palmieri is a Puerto Rican from the South Bronx, just like my family.
