WE LIVE ON AVENUE Q!
SAVE WITH A SEAON PASS!

|
The Axelrod Performing Arts Center will
be strolling down AVENUE Q in November, with a
brand-new production of the musical that ruled Broadway (for 6 years) and
Off Broadway (for 10 years). Before The Book of Mormon…and
many years after Sesame Street…came AVENUE
Q, the winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" (Best
Musical, Best Score and Best Book), the show is as relevant and
laugh-out-loud funny today as it ever was.
|
|
With music and lyrics by Robert Lopez
and Jeff Marx and a book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q tells the
timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a
shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q, which he soon
discovers is far from an ordinary neighborhood. (Right: Original Broadway Cast of Avenue Q)
|
|
|
Filled with gut-busting humor and a
delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue
Q continues to make us laugh, learn and reconsider the world around
us. The Axelrod’s all-star cast will be directed and choreographed by
Todd LaBron Underwood. Rated R for adult language, adult content and
adult situations—AVENUE Q is not for children! Previews
begin November 4.

A MONKEY AND ME—
A NEW MUSICAL BY JONATHAN BRIELLE HOLTZMAN
|
|
Broadway and TV legend Tovah
Feldshuh (Pippin, Golda’s Balcony, Becoming Dr. Ruth)
appears alongside Jersey Shore-born composer Jonathan
Brielle Holtzman (Foxfire, Himself and Nora) in a
swinging, hilarious new musical comedy in concert A MONKEY AND
ME: STORIES I NEVER TOLD MY MOTHER. The cast also includes five
other Broadway veterans: Veanne Cox (An American in
Paris, La Cage aux Folles, Caroline or Change, Company), Bruce
Sabath (Company, Hello Again), Jennifer Sanchez (On
Your Feet, West Side Story, Pretty Woman), Nancy Titoten (Damn
Yankees, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, West Side Story) and Kate
Marilley (The Prom, My Fair Lady, Flying Over Sunset). The performances are directed by Kelli Barclay (Associate

directed by Nathan Dame who will conduct the onstage
swing band! Brielle retells humorous tales of growing up in Asbury
Park, wrestling with gangsters, corporate America, two ex-wives, a monkey
from his Las Vegas extravaganza, and his overbearing theatrical
Jewish mother.
