While the last two years of COVID have been challenging for everyone, we recognize they have been particularly difficult for teachers. You have our admiration and empathy.

Although there is no way to predict where we will be in the months ahead, signs suggest we are making our way out of the worst of the pandemic. We are choosing to be hopeful, and are moving forward with planning a full, in-person 2022 Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival for October 20th through the 23rd, with High School Student Day scheduled for Friday, October 21st.

In this spirit, we invite you to begin the registration process in the hope that we will be able to gather, and you and your students can attend.

We understand it may be impossible to know what your school’s policies regarding class trips will be next fall. We ourselves do not know what will happen regarding public performances in Newark between now and then. We are prepared to adapt as the landscape changes and are committed to following best practices regarding safety protocols. Please review our current COVID-19 Safety Policy here.

If you have any questions, please contact us at studentday@grdodge.org

Best wishes,

Dodge Poetry
