entrepreneur, returns to MPAC with a new virtual
presentation highlighting the journey of women
in hip hop.
From Sha Rock to Megan Thee
Stallion, and Sylvia Robinson (Sugar Hill
Records) to Desiree Perez (CEO of Roc Nation),
women have mastered the ability to hold and
wield power from both the artistic and business
side of this global billion-dollar industry.
This virtual Zoom lecture will be followed by
Q&A.

Black Artists all season long at MPAC! Throughout
Black History Month, we'll be spotlighting upcoming
MPAC programs that feature Black artists and
stories.
This week's
highlight is Chaka Khan, coming
to MPAC June 9!!
Chaka Khan
is one of the world’s most gifted and celebrated musicians.
The 10-time GRAMMY® Award has the rare ability to
sing in seven music genres, including R&B, pop,
rock, gospel, country, world music and classical.
Chaka is revered by millions of fans as well as her
peers for her timeless, classic and unmatched signature
music style and ability on such hits as “Ain't
Nobody,” “I Feel for You,” “I'm Every Woman” and
“Through the Fire.”
