Chatham Players Announce Dates for Tuck Everlasting, The Musical Auditions 



The Chatham Players is seeking performers for their upcoming production of 

Tuck Everlasting, The Musical
Book by Claudia Shear & Tim Federle
Music by Chris Miller
Lyrics by Nathan Tysen.
Based on the novel Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
Jeffrey Fiorello directs
Lois Buesser is Musical Director
Amy Calzone, the Choreographer

WHEN: Thursday, November 18th, at 7pm and Sunday, November 21st, at 2pm. Callbacks will be held by request only on Monday, November 22 at 7pm.

The Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Ave, Chatham, NJ. 

The production runs Feb 25 – March 12, 2022, at the Chatham Playhouse.  

Rehearsals to begin early December.

  • Please prepare 32 bars of a song (in the style of the show).
  • Be sure to bring sheet music in the appropriate key. 
  • An accompanist will be provided. 
  • All who audition (over 12 years of age) must be vaccinated.
Performers may be asked to stay to learn and perform a short dance combination. Headshots and resumes are not required but gladly received. 

The Chatham Players have an open call casting policy. ALL roles are open, none are precast, and everyone is encouraged to audition. Synopsis:

What would you do if you had all eternity? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.

Casting Breakdown – Seeking 9 Women, 12 Men, 1 Girl and 1 Boy

WINNIE FOSTER: Girl – 11 (11 – 14). Soprano / Belt / Folk A3 – E5. Longing for romance and adventure, subtle actress with good comedic timing. Dancer.

JESSE TUCK: Male – 17 (17 – 25). Tenor / Belt / Folk F3 – C5. Light & laughing, eternal youth with shadow of loneliness. Dancer.

MAE TUCK (Ma): Female – (40 – 50). Mezzo- Soprano / Belt / Folk. A3 – E5. The
Matriarch, homespun wisdom is leavened by her humor and girlish delight. Moves well.

ANGUS TUCK (Pa): Male – (40 – 50). Bari-Tenor / Folk / Belt. E3 – B4. Vibrant, virile man, indulgent father, fond if forgetful husband. Deep love for his family. Moves well.

MILES TUCK: Male – 23 (21 – 32). Bari-Tenor / Folk / Belt. F3 – C5. Burned and Bitter man. Lost his wife and child. Doomed to live a life with regret. Moves well.

MAN IN THE YELLOW SUIT: Mature Male (50 – 75). Bari-Tenor G3 – B4. Nefarious leader of a traveling carnival in search of the fountain of youth. Dancer.

BETSY FOSTER: Female (35 – 45). Mezzo- Soprano (Legit) A3 – E5. Winnie’s Mother; gentle woman broken by grief, fear and loss. Brave, and unbending. Moves Well.

NANA: Mature Female (50 – 75). Alto / Folk A3 – C#5. Grandmother of Winnie, loopy old woman, but a loving grandmother and mother. Excellent Comic timing. Non-Dancer

HUGO: Male – 17 (17 – 25). Tenor / Folk / Country G3 – C5. Shy, awkward, goofy. Constable Joe’s sidekick and son. Dancer.

CONSTABLE JOE: Mature Male (50 – 75). Baritone / Folk / Country F3 – B4. Head of police force, seemingly a buffoon, but has sharp wit and kind heart. Moves Well.

ENSEMBLE:

5 Males: Ages 17 – 35. Strong Singers and Dancers.
1 Male: Age 35 – 55. Strong Singer / Mover.
5 Females: Ages 17 – 35. Strong Singers and Dancers.
1 Female: Age 35 – 55. Strong Singer / Dancer.
1 Boy: Age 8 – 12. Dancer.
