LPL News ALERT: Friends to Resume Accepting Material Donations

Friends of the Library to Resume Accepting Material Donations

The Friends of the Livingston Library are once again accepting donations of gently used books (fiction, non-fiction, children’s), games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD.

At this time, donations must be limited to a dozen items per day. Large donations must be arranged through the Friends. Call (973) 992-4600 x505 and leave a message. A volunteer will contact you to make arrangements.

All donations should be left in the Friends donation bin in the interior of the building during Library operating hours. Donations should not be left in the book drop, in the lobby, or anywhere on the exterior of the building.

A tax receipt is available from the main desk.

The Friends are unable to accept and respectfully request that you arrange for private disposal of the following: books in poor, non-saleable condition, magazines, VHS tapes, cassettes, encyclopedias, textbooks older than 3 years, and textbooks below the college level. Friends is not able to sell, re-donate, or re-direct certain materials. Disposing of these items increases our recycling costs and absorbs limited volunteer time.

If you have questions about this policy, please contact Friends at 973-994-4600 x505.
