Virtual Studio Visit: Ralph Steadman

Meet legendary artist and illustrator Ralph Steadman and take a peek inside his studio in Kent (United Kingdom). Best known for his collaborations with writer Hunter S. Thompson, Steadman notably created classic illustrations for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He is also known for his political satire, as well as collaborations with Travis Scott, Vans and Flying Dog beer.


Studio Snapshot: Clara Alden

 Wednesday, February 24, Noon 

Studio Snapshot is a series of short videos exploring the work of Newark contemporary artists. In this video, Lagos-based artist Clara Aden gives an overview of her practice and discusses working as an artist in the time of a worldwide pandemic.

Diversity and Inclusion Workshop

 Wednesday, February 24, 1pm 

Teachers are invited to discuss and learn how we can be inclusive in our instruction as well as content when teaching all subjects. Utilizing art, the Museum team will provide collaborative opportunities to discuss how, why, and best practices in diversifying our content and approach to learning while being culturally sensitive to all backgrounds. Each NJ participant will receive 3 credit hours toward professional development.


Virtual Family Drop-In: Ancient Egyptian Stories with Jonathan Kruk

Go on a journey to Ancient Egypt with master storyteller Jonathan Kruk. Hear tales of the Gods of Ancient Egypt in this interactive storytelling experience filled with moments of mystery, thrills, and fun!

=SPACE has collaborated with Nehemiah D. Frank, founder of The Black Wall Street Times to bring upon a collision of history and futurism in dialogue. The mission of this event is to not simply educate people on the building of Black Wall Street; but to also provide a resource for our entrepreneurial community of color to build a new system of economic wealth.
