PIXIE DUST PLAYERS SLATE AUDITIONS THIS WEEK!
We are thrilled to offer TWO outdoor, in person production opportunities this fall at the beautiful Camp Riverbend in Warren!
This fall, we will share a magical medley-filled revue of some of our favorite music! Filled with solos, duets, and other featured moments, all cast members will have their chance in the spotlight. This production will be directed and choreographed by PDP Artistic Director Lindsay Maron with arrangements and music direction by Broadway Artist and PDP favorite, Geoffrey Ko (Be More Chill). If you remember our 2017 production, Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust, you will love this revamped and updated version!
This production is open to performers ages 12 and up and will meet both virtually AND in person outdoors.
Auditions are due by Thursday so don't wait to choose your song!
Inspired by the events of The Little Rock 9, Polkadots serves as a colorful history lesson for children, reminding them that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts.
Auditions are open to ages 6-18 and will meet both virtually AND in person outdoors.
Auditions are due on Thursday so head on over to start practicing your audition song today!
Audition FAQs
Q. With school and other extracurriculars, I am a bit worried
about the commitment. Would I be required to attend every rehearsal?
A. No! You will only be called for rehearsals where we are working
on scenes and songs you are in. We never want to waste anybody's time and we
know how much you have going on in addition to our productions. We aim to
schedule as efficiently and productively as possible.
Q. Do I need to sing one of the songs from the website?
A. We are hoping to hear one of the songs we have laid out on the
site. That said, if you are unable to record them for some reason, we will
accept any 30-60 second video that shows personality and vocal ability.
Q. Can you tell me more about Camp Riverbend? Why did you choose
this venue?
A. Camp Riverbend is a beautiful space with endless opportunity!
There is a large open air theatre, a covered open-air pavilion, and tons of
space. As we continue navigating the pandemic, we saw a strong desire for safe,
in person options and this space allows us to offer opportunities with
excellent ventilation, plenty of room to distance, and a wonderful environment
to work in. We are so grateful to the Breene family for allowing us use of
their incredible grounds and we cannot wait for you to see it!
Q. I wanted to audition but I am concerned about the participation
fees. What are my options?
A. Theatre, as an industry, has completely changed due to the
pandemic. Our primary revenue used to come from ticket sales which is something
we can no longer count on or rely on. We are adapting as quickly and
effectively as we can to continue to offer high quality and exciting
opportunities and learning experiences for our performers. One of the ways we
can accomplish this and ensure we can continue offering the level of experience
we always have is by charging a participation fee. This income is used to pay
the rights and royalties for the show, to secure the space, to pay our staff,
and to cover all technical elements (set, costumes, props) as well as mixing
audio and editing the final videos. If cost is a limiting factor for you,
please reach out to us and we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
We understand and completely empathize with how difficult things are right now
for our Pixie Dust families and we appreciate your support and understanding as
well! Our priority has always been to be as accessible and inclusive as
possible and in these trying times, this mission has only grown stronger.
