VIRTUAL OWL PELLET
EXPLORATION
September 23
Ages 6 - 12.
Learn all about owls and their adaptations from a naturalist during this LIVE virtual program. Then follow her instructions to dissect an owl pellet and attempt to assemble the skeleton of its prey. Participants must call ahead to pick up their materials from the Great Swamp OEC. All participants must have at home: liquid glue. Learn More Here!

October 6 - Amazing Lenape Artifacts
Explore the
culture of the Lenape Indians of New Jersey with an emphasis placed on the
importance of the natural world in their daily existence. Tour a model wigwam
decorated as if it’s still lived in.
October 13 - Spider Sense!
It’s time
to learn about the creepiest bugs of Halloween; spiders! This class is all
about our eight legged friends and the work they do for our benefit. Learn how
the create webs, use vibrations to track movement, and help us get rid of
pests. During the class, create your own web and see what a spider can do!
October 20 - Ferns and Fun!
Learn about
the lifecycle of the prehistoric ferns and how many thousands of different
kinds of ferns there are today. Discover how we know ferns were around millions
of years ago and make a nature “fossil” out of clay. Pick up supplies prior to
class.
COST:
$10/child per class. A $2 material fee may apply.

Fosterfields Farm Tours has new site hours!
There are now 2 ways for you to
see your favorite Fosterfields animals including Hobbes, the retired Belgian
draft horse, sheep, including our newest Shropshire breed, the Jersey cows,
and of course, Carl the ox! Check out what’s growing in the gardens and talk
with a farmer from the safety of your own vehicle during drive thru tours or
enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the farm. Tours are by

pm and 2:30 pm Walk Thru Tours: Fridays at 1 pm
and 1:30 pm. Saturday 10 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2 pm COST: Drive Thru: $10/carload.
