D&R Greenway's 21,000 Preserved Acres Await your Summer Staycation
Kate's Trail: This terrestrial box turtle, a New Jersey Species of Special Concern,is right at home on Kate's Trail, off Elm Ridge Road in Mercer County. If you are lucky enough to see this turtle, please don't touch and do leave it in its chosen habitat.
This wooded trail, named in memory of Katharine Wright Gorrie, is a perfect place for inspiring future naturalists. Access the trail at the D&R Greenway sign on Elm Ridge near Carter Road. Follow the trail to a bench at Reflection Point. Continue through shaded beech groves to the Stony Brook and find your reflection in the water.
