SONGWRITERS IN MUFTI THEME ANNOUNCED

Good Morning, Songwriters!

Welcome to Week 1 of Songwriters in Mufti!

This week, to start things off, we're going to start with something about...well, about US.

Imagine a musical about The York. Need some history? Check out our website: (Hint:This was our 50th Anniversary Season!)

Now that you've imagined a musical about The York, write us a song from that musical. Is it the opening number? An "I Want" song? A patter song inspired by Jim Morgan's infamous curtain speech? That's up to you! Feel free to not stick totally to the facts—we don't mind a little artistic license.

Send a recording of your song (no parodies, please—at least not this time around) to songwritersinmufti@yorktheatre.org by 8:00 PM (EST) on Friday, May 1st! We'd prefer video recordings, but if that's not in the cards, we'll accept audio recordings, too. If possible, please send files via Dropbox or similar service. Sheet music is not necessary.

If you've got any further questions, email us at songwritersinmufti@yorktheatre.org, and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

We can't wait to see and hear your work!

All best,

Seth Christenfeld, Literary Manager
