Lunch & Learn: Saya Woolfalk, Artist in Residence

Join New York-based artist Saya Woolfalk as she discusses her art practice and plans for a solo exhibition opening at The Newark Museum of Art in 2021. A multi-media artist who uses science fiction and fantasy to re-imagine the world in multiple dimensions, Woolfalk has been researching the Museum's Hudson River School landscape collection to create new work for the Seeing America galleries.

Brighten up your neighborhood by creating your own faux stained glass window decoration! Inspired by the Ballantine House windows, follow along as a Museum educator guides you through the process. The video will be available on our Facebook page.

Art Faceoff Online Edition: Finalists Announced, 2pm

The top 5 finalists for the Art Faceoff will be announced on Facebook and Instagram on Friday at 2pm. Vote for your favorite by tagging the artist in the comment section.

    Journalist and author Valentina Giannella discusses her recent book, We Are All Greta, in this Q&A session.
  • Storytime Live! A Tree is Nice, 11am
    A Tree Is Nice is a classic tale about the beauty of the everyday world.
  • Artist Talk: Willie Cole, 11:45am
    In this talk contemporary artist Willie Cole will focus on his more recent work The Water Bottle Giant.
  • Live Animals, with Outragehisss Pets, 1pm
    Outragehisss Pets presents a virtual interactive live animal program with a variety of exotic animals and insects!
  • Live Concert: Bash the Trash, 2pm
    A musical group that performs using trash! Witness the great music that can be made with minimal supplies, and then learn how to create your own instrument using similar materials.
  • Virtual Tour: Earth in Art, 3pm
    How is earth used in art? This engaging 20-minute virtual tour looks at three works in the Museum’s collection, each made with earth as a primary material or subject matter.
