UPDATE FROM WEST ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY

Home

Dear West Orange Public Library family,

I hope that everyone is doing well and sheltering in place. This has been for the West Orange Public Library, like everyone else a time of adjustment to an unexpected challenge. At this time, by executive order of Governor Murphy all libraries in the state are closed indefinitely.

The West Orange Public Library wants to assure you that we are continuing to serve you online. Please go to our website, www.wopl.org and www.bccls.org to explore the many digital resources available through the library as well as a growing list of great resources available at no charge to you. Please like our Facebook Page www.facebook.com/westorangelibrary for more content including live events from our librarians.

We are fortunate that our head of maintenance is certified for Covid-19 cleaning which is being done regularly and deeply while we are closed so when we are open you will have the reassurance that the library is a safe place for you and your family. Many people have asked if we will be able to provide at least a curbside service for the many materials in our collection. At this time, our Health Department has not cleared this service as safe. We will at all times consult with and cooperate with our Health Department to keep you our West Orange family and the staff of the West Orange Public Library safe.

Most importantly, it is important to only receive accurate and authoritative information, especially during an emergency. Please go to https://covid19.nj.gov/ for information and updates from New Jersey to help you through this unprecedented crisis.

For reference questions please email ref@westorangelibrary.org. For questions for teen and children’s please email youth@westorangelibrary.org. For questions for the library in general go to admin@westorangelibrary.org.

Stay calm and carry on,

David Cubie, Library Director
