The Axelrod Performing Arts Center/Vogel Auditorium, a venue with 500 seats, is following the recommendation of the Commissioner of Health of NJ and will be limiting attendance at Matilda and future productions to no more than 250 patrons until further notice. Our Patrons will have plenty of room in our beautiful venue to enjoy this breathtaking show.
SAT AND SUNDAY MATINEES ARE THEREFORE AT CAPACITY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ON A WAITING LIST, PLEASE CALL THE BOX OFFICE AT 732-531-9106 X14. THERE ARE STILL GREAT SEATS FOR SAT. EVENING.
"The well-being of our patrons, artists and staff is our number one priority. The theater at the Axelrod PAC is being cleaned regularly (before and after each performance), rest rooms are cleaned throughout the performances with disinfectant, and of course we stress hand washing as a preventive measure.
If you are not feeling well, we encourage you to stay at home, and we will credit you for a future performance.
Based on guidance from state and local officials, all performances at the Axelrod PAC are presently to be performed as scheduled, and we will keep you informed of any changes."

Broadway World praised all five leads, singling out the “outstanding performance” delivered by Brian Charles Rooney as Agatha Trunchbull—“incredible”—as well as Elizabeth Ritacco’s portrayal Miss Honey, Matilda's teacher. “Every time she steps onstage, it is a breath of fresh air.... Ritacco sings each song beautifully, and embodies Miss Honey's soft, caring personality.”
