Livingston Public Library News: What We're Doing To Help Keep You Safe

Dear Livingston Library Patrons,

The current public health concern involving the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is continuing to unfold. The Livingston Public Library has been working closely with local and state authorities to make decisions that prioritize public health and safety. While, as of today, we continue to have no known cases of Coronavirus in Livingston, we know through our health professionals and officials that gathering together in groups can perpetuate the spread of the virus. We have received a great deal of information about the importance of taking significant measures now, before the virus spreads further, to minimize the spread of the virus. We will be following the example set by our local school system and have decided to take preventative steps in order to mitigate the fast spread of the Coronavirus in our broader community.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Library will be closed from noon Friday, March 13th through Friday, March 27th.

In this period of uncertainty and ever-changing developments, we urge you to visit our website for updates. Moving forward we will continue to monitor the situation carefully, evaluate the severity of risk to the community, and proceed with reopening as deemed appropriate. We will provide updates and links to information as it becomes available. In the meantime, you can access information about COVID-19 here.

We sincerely wish that all members of our community stay in good health. And we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

What This Means For You

Due Dates for Your Items Will Be Changed

We will automatically move the due dates for your items to Monday March 30th. Please DO NOT leave items in the book drops. We encourage you to keep items at home and return them when we reopen.

All Inter Library Loan and Hold functions will be suspended during the Closure

This means you cannot place holds to be picked at the Livingston Library or any other BCCLS library. However, you are free to visit any other BCCLS Library to check out materials.

You can still access library materials through our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our digital collections are always available. Access music, comics, videos, magazines, ebooks & audio books online, anytime, anywhere! You will continue to have access to databases and online learning tools. Check out our blog for recommendations from our librarians.

Sincerely,

Amy Babcock Landry
