ECO-SHOPPING FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The Watershed Institute's Nature Shop has great holiday gifts, ranging from clean-water kits for young scientists to nature books, toys, and animal puppets. We offer recycled and up-cycled jewelry and glassware, nature-themed ornaments, local honey, syrup and hot sauce, and other gift items for all ages for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, the Winter Solstice and more!

Watershed logo wear and gear are available to keep you snug, your lunches insulated and your head comfy as you support our environmental mission to keep water clean, safe and healthy in central New Jersey.

HONEY BROOK ORGANIC FARM

This summer, Honey Brook Organic Farm will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program on land leased from the Watershed.

WINTER BIRD WALK
WHEN: SATURDAY, DEC. 7, 9-11 a.m.

General Audience, ages 12+; free
Join Education Director Jeff Hoagland on a hike in search of wintering birds. Bring binoculars and dress for walking outdoors. This event is co-sponsored with the Washington Crossing Audubon Society.

CANDLE MAKING WORKSHOP
WHEN: SATURDAY, DEC. 14, 1-3:00 p.m

Get ready to celebrate the approaching winter solstice, Hanukkah, Christmas and the return of light. We will guide you through creating hand-dipped candles, sand candles, shaping your candles, and adding embellishments. These hand-made creations make wonderful gifts!

NATURAL HOLIDAY DELIGHTS AND DRINKS

Get into the holiday spirit! Sip some wine or beer as you create tiny holiday treasures and gifts from natural materials. We will provide snacks, plus everything you need to make festive ornaments and decorations. Bring your own wine or beer; we'll bring the corkscrew.

PRESCHOOL NATURE CLASS
WHEN: TUESDAYS, DEC. 10 & 17, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Ages, 3-5, $10 per child.

Get wild with us as we learn about a variety of nature topics! Each class includes outdoor exploration, stories and a craft. Dress for the weather because we always go outside. Children must be accompanied by an adult. See weekly topics online.

TODDLER NATURE CLASS

Children, ages 18-36 months; each class is $10 per child

Start instilling a love of nature in your child with our Toddler Nature Classes. We provide a fun introduction to animals, plants and nature in general. You and your toddler will enjoy a song, a story and a walk outside. Dress for the weather because we always go outside. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
