In celebration of its 25th Anniversary Season, Two River Theater welcomes audiences to a special evening celebrating the theater’s history of producing classic plays  and new works that are now part of the national theater canon. 25 Years of Great American Theater—a One-Night Reading Celebrating Two River Theater will highlight scenes, monologues and songs from some of the theater’s most notable productions since its founding by Joan and Robert Rechnitz in 1994.

The actors participating in this one-night special event, which will take place in the Rechnitz Theater,  include Brittany Bellizeare (Seven Guitars, King Hedley II), Jane Bruce (The Ballad of Little Jo), Philip Goodwin (As You Like It, Lives of Reason, Noises Off), Gabriel Diego Hernández (El Coquí Espectacular and the Bottle of Doom), Charlie Hudson III (Seven Guitars, A Raisin in the Sun, King Hedley II), Flor De Liz Perez (Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England, El Coquí Espectacular and the Bottle of Doom) and Maureen Silliman (The Real Thing, Uncle Vanya, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Our Town, The Glass Menagerie, Lives of Reason, The Belle of Amherst).

The evening will be curated and directed by Brian Eckert, Two River’s Artistic Assistant for the 2018/19 and 2017/18 Seasons. Prior to graduating from a program in directing from New York University, Eckert participated in several of the Two River’s Education programs, including playing Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2009/10 and serving as a Metro Scholar in 2011/12.  

Two River Theater is committed to creating great American theater by developing and producing work by some of the country’s leading artists. Two River produces an annual season of plays (including classics, world premieres, musicals, and theater for young audiences), festivals of new work, and 40+ annual events that reflect its diverse community of Red Bank, New Jersey.
