Spring Acting Classes @ MST

PLAYMAKING—AESOP'S FABLES For grades 2-4
Mondays 3:40-4:45 $200
April 10-June 5 (4/10, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 6/4 [Sunday], 6/5)
Using Aesop’s Fable, actors Mara Lawler and Annie McAdams help kids create a short play. Family and friends will be invited for a workshop performance at the end of the class.

ADULT ACTING BEGINNER 1
Wednesdays 7:00-9:00 $320
April 12-May 31 (4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31)
This class is a great way to push your creative ability through a mixture of exercises, improvisation, scene work and monologues.

INTRODUCTION TO ACTING For grades 4-5
Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 $200
April 11-June 6 (4/11, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/5)
Intro to Acting for Grades 4-5 focuses on developing well-rounded young actors. This class culminates with a low key share day for family and friends. Note: This class is designed to be repeated.

INTRODUCTION TO SCENE STUDY For grades 6-8
Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 $200
April 11-June 6 (meets 4/11, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/5)
Intro to acting for Grades 6-8 addresses the specific needs of the middle-school aged student. Students work on the fundamentals of acting (listening, emphathy, creative imagination) as well as age appropriate scene work. Note: This class is designed to be repeated.

CREATIVE DRAMA For grades 1-2
Thursdays 3:30-4:30 $200
April 13-June 8 (meets 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8)
Creative Drama I uses games, improvisations, storytelling and open scenes to develop young actors. This class culminates with a low key share day for family and friends. Note: this class is designed to be repeated.

IMPROV FOR KIDS For grades 6-8
Thursdays 3:30-4:30 $250
March 30-June 8 (3/30, 4/6, 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8)
This fast-paced class introduces the fundamentals of improvisation through short form games and exercises. Students strengthen their mental dexterity, creativity, ensemble skills, and patience in a fun environment.

STORYBOOK THEATRE For ages 4-5
Saturdays 9:30-10:15 $250
March 25-June 3 (meets 5/25, 4/1, 4/8, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 6/3, 6/10)
The class is centered on stories and theater games. Each week we read different stories and play theater games based on what happens in the stories. A theatrical way to develop a love of reading and theater.
