Adult men and women, teenagers, and children are invited to perform as supers in non-singing, non-speaking acting roles in the company's grand, traditional production of Carmen. Fifteen men are especially needed to appear as toreadors, guards and town authorities, among others. Verismo Opera has openings for supernumeraries of any age to appear in costume and carry banners. Young women, ages 16 to 30, are needed to appear in scenes.

No prior stage experience is required. Supers will work closely with the company’s General Manager/Stage Director, Canadian soprano Evelyn La Quaif, a prominent voice teacher and performer.

People interested in performing as supers are invited to attend rehearsals

WHEN: Saturdays, March 14, 21, 28, and April 4, 11, and 18 at 1:30 PM
WHERE: 44 Armory Street in Englewood, New Jersey.
For further information about super roles, contact 201.224.2809.

Verismo Opera invites members of the community to get involved and see the development of an opera production behind the scenes. Many unique opportunities are available for people looking to acquire new skills, brush up on existing ones or complete community service requirements.

People are invited to volunteer behind the scenes assisting with props, costumes, and sets. Other opportunities include promoting the elaborate productions, fundraising projects, planning events and receptions, graphic design, photography, proofreading, mailings, and helping with various administrative functions. Outgoing individuals are needed to greet visitors at performances, distribute flyers/posters, seek in-kind donations, and promote tickets for productions and special events.
