Back by popular demand, talented New York and New Jersey teens and young adults, ages 14-25, will sing their hearts out raise money to help local families send their children to summer camp and after-school programs through the YMCA’s Annual Community Support Campaign and to help local families secure “affordable and decent” housing through Habitat for Humanity. CABARET FOR A CAUSE 2014, an original musical revue, will feature talented young performers, singing an inspiring range of pop/rock and classic musical theater songs about building communities through strength in diversity.

“Last summer, we used our talents to perform to a sold-out audience and raised over $6000 to help the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and the Oklahoma tornados. This summer, we are once again doing our part to inspire audiences, this time to support local families in need,” explains Mitchell Epstein, the show’s 17-year-old artistic director of North Caldwell.

Cabaret for a Cause 2014 will feature talent by local performers Angelika Anastasio of Lincoln Park, Jared Aronoff of Livingston, Chris Bailey of Cedar Grove, Marisa Budnick of Wayne, Hayley Budnick of Wayne, Christopher Cherry of New York City, Alexander Dorf of Tenafly, Darin Earl of Union, Alyssa Fanelli of Cedar Grove, Samantha Fink of Kinnelon, Gabriel Florentino of New York City, Nicole Garamella of Caldwell, Julia Gebhardt of Ramsey, Katherine Giordano of Mendham, Daniella Ignacio of Roseland, Jarred Lee of Bloomfield, Jackie Leibowitz of Cedar Grove, Davis Lemley of Cedar Grove, Ethan Lynch of Randolph, Michael Nigro of Cranford, Angela Romano of Roseland, Audrey Russelman of Wanaque, Kelly Scheper of Roseland, Katie Wells of Mountainside, and Sophie Wolf of South Orange.

Our band features conductor Adrienne Blossey of Jersey City, pianist Donna Mateyka of Wayne, Drummer Alex Agresti of New Providence, cellist Jarred Lee of Bloomfield, guitarist Dan Ganton of North Caldwell, and bass player Jason DePope of West Paterson.

Several of our performers have graduated from or are currently attending Musical Theater, Music, or Vocal Performance programs at such prestigious colleges including Carnegie Mellon University, Pace University, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Marymount Manhattan College, New Jersey City University, Point Park University, Berklee College of Music, Temple University, Montclair State University, Rider University, Princeton University, and The Peabody Conservatory of Music.
