Closer Look Tour & Free First Friday

Did you know MAM has free admission the first Friday of every month? The Museum is open regular gallery hours, 12–5 PM. Stop by and also take advantage of our FREE Closer Look Tour at 2 PM. These informal 20-minute gallery talks provide an in-depth examination of one to two works of art on view in the galleries. Tours are led by MAM educators and docents.

Family Programs

Park Bench WHEN: 3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair WHERE: Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair ADMISSION: $18 per family, $6 Family-level members and above Tickets Parents with young children will enjoy MAM Park Bench, a program that introduces children to the Museum and serves as an artistic social outing. Get acquainted with other parents and young children, work on fun art projects, and take a guided tour of the Museum. Storytelling provided in the galleries courtesy of the Montclair Public Library and the program is led by MAM educator Angela Frasco. Home School Days and Family Art Adventure return in September!

Creative Aging

Check out this recent Montclair Times article on MAM's Creative Aging Programs! Artful Outing WHEN: First Tuesday of the month, 11 AM–12 PM ADMISSION: FREE MAM invites people with dementia and their care partners to attend a FREE, interactive gallery program facilitated by MAM docents and educators. Engage with current exhibitions in a meaningful way through gallery-based conversation and activities. If you are an individual caregiver or program coordinator for a care facility and wish to participate, please call 973.259.5136 or contact tours@montclairartmuseum.org to make a reservation. Art in the Afternoon returns in September!

MAM Art Truck The Montclair Art Museum is serving up art! The MAM Art Truck is a mobile open studio, housed in a retrofitted ice cream truck, that offers free art projects and lessons to MAM's community. Upcoming events include festivals and farmer's markets as well as weekday appearances at senior centers and community pools. Visit montclairartmuseum.org/mamarttruck to see the full schedule.
